Available Assessments
CPT (Computerized Placement Test)- This test is required for all degree seeking students who either do not have ACT or SAT scores less than two years old or whose scores do not meet the minimum required to be exempt from preparatory English and math classes.
Fee- $10.00, for first time takers, $5.00 for retakes
CLM (College Level Math)- A student with qualifying math scores on the SAT, ACT, or CPT may request this test in order to be placed into a higher level math class. This test may be required for dual enrollment students.
Fee- $10.00 for first time takers, $5.00 for retakes, free to any student who pays for and takes the CPT at CFCC
TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education)- This is the required test for certificate and vocational programs offered at CFCC. Minimum required scores vary with the selected program.
Fee- $10.00, for first time takers, $5.00 for retakes
CLEP (College Level Examination Program)- CFCC currently offers 33 different CLEP exams which may be taken for college credits. Please consult the college catalog or an academic advisor to determine which test fulfills the requirements for specific classes.
Fee- $80.00 ($15.00 CFCC fee, plus $65.00 paid online by credit card to CLEP at the beginning of the exam)
DANTES - These tests are similar to the CLEP in that successful completion can earn the taker college credit. CFCC offers 37 different DANTES exams. Please consult the college catalog or an academic advisor to determine which test fulfills the requirements for specific classes
Fee- $95.00 ($25.00 CFCC fee, plus $70.00 paid online by credit card to DANTES at the beginning of the test.
F-BAT (Florida Basic Abilities Test)- Successful completion of this test is part of the requirement to work within the criminal justice system in the state of Florida.
Fee- $45.00
Proctored Tests- Proctoring services are available for both internet based and paper tests. This service is available to students of other colleges and universities, as well as CFCC students.
Fee- Free for CFCC students, $25.00 for non-CFCC students
PSB (Psychological Service Bureau) Reading Comprehension Test- A one hour timed reading comprehension test which is required for entry into the Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Fee- $25.00
Career Development Assessments
The following assessments are also available to assist students to select college majors and future careers:
CareerScope- An established career assessment and reporting system that measures both aptitudes and interests, and provides career recommendations.
Fee- Free for CFCC students, $41.00 for non-CFCC students
CoMIT (College Major Interest Test)- An online assessment that helps students identify college majors that relate to their interests.
Fee- Free for CFCC students, $5.00 for non-CFCC students
Personality Plus Profile- An online self assessment that identifies one’s basic temperament, which can be useful in career planning and other areas of life.
Fee- Free for CFCC students, $5.00 for non-CFCC students
Choices Planner- An online career information delivery system which helps students build career plans, investigate work and education options, access the Department of Labor’s O*NET career information database, and search for scholarships.
Fee- Free for CFCC students, $5.00 for non-CFCC students
